Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute C Receives Excellence in Sustainability Award

Designed by ZGF Architects with acoustical and vibration consulting by Colin Gordon Associates, Arizona State University’s new building sets a standard for sustainability. It is the winner of Lab Manager’s Excellence in Sustainability prize. Along with the active chilled beam design, the ERAL (enhanced run-around loop) system, and unique copper screen reacts to the local climate resulting in lower need for fossil fuel-generated heating and cooling. Biodesign Institute C is half the size of Biodesign Institutes A and B combined, running at 50 percent of the energy of the other two buildings.
