Specialty Spaces

Unique spaces require unique solutions.

We bring a careful, experienced approach to your project so that all your requirements are met, even the ones you haven’t thought about.

We have worked on many spaces with specific requirements that present distinct challenges for acoustics and vibration control, some of which may conflict with other environmental requirements. Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), conference centers, and similar spaces will have specific, strict, requirements for sound attenuation, reverberation, and HVAC noise levels. Cleanrooms require high airflows and strict limits on finishes in order to maintain cleanliness, but often also have stringent noise and vibration requirements that must also be met. Anechoic rooms and sound isolation chambers often have extremely low noise level requirements but are susceptible to the acoustic and vibration design of the buildings that will house them. Specialty imaging suites, such as those housing the most advanced transmission electron microscopes (TEMs), have stringent requirements for air flow, room dimensions, finishes, and electromagnetic interference (EMI). All of these pose a design challenge to assuring that all these rooms also meet strict vibration and acoustical conditions.
