Caltech Neuroscience Research Building Wins Gold Award in BD+C’s 2021 Building Team Awards

The 2021 BD+C’s Gold Award goes to California Institute of Technology’s Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience building in Pasadena California. Colin Gordon Associates was chosen by the architect, SmithGroup as part of their team for vibration and acoustic services for  the new 5-story, Design-Build facility of 144,780 sf.

Caltech’s $193 million project was designed to bring together scientists of all disciplines and all brain-related research from all over the campus to one place. The five stories are made up of three levels above ground and two below. Colin Gordon Associates worked with the design team to provide recommendations for appropriate vibration and noise criteria with respect to the optimal locations for sensitive instruments and processes.
