Our own Hal Amick was awarded IEST (Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology) Fellowship, “in recognition of his esteemed work in the field of structural and mechanical vibration, as a problem-solver, technical advisor, and mentor as well as an invaluable contributor to the IEST Nanotechnology program.” “Fellowship is lifetime honor bestowed on current members in good standing for their extraordinary professional distinction and vital contributions to the advancement of the environmental sciences and to IEST.”
Lou Vitale, who CGA had the fortune of collaborating with on many important projects, was honored, posthumously, with the President’s Award “for his long-term contributions as an industry giant in the field of Electromagnetics and Radio Frequency interferences, for supporting the IEST Nanotechnology and Contamination Control divisions, and for being a wonderful, respectful and talented mentor, and a warm and funny friend.”
Hal Amick joined Colin Gordon Associates in 1996, after spending eleven years with Bolt Beranek & Newman (BBN) and Acentech. Prior to 1990, he worked closely with Colin Gordon at BBN. Throughout his time at Colin Gordon Associates he has helped lead the design and evaluation low-vibration environments for vibration-sensitive facilities used for research, development and production of microelectronics as well as those used for nanotechnology, optics research, advanced physics and bioscience studies. He has worked with IEST for over 33 years, including participation in the Nanotechnology (NANO) working groups – helping to develop recommended practices for the design and evaluation highly sensitive advanced technology facilities.
Congrats Hal!
